You can search in the title of holdings, names of persons and corporate body entities, archival institutions, record type, categories, time span and free text.
You can combine several search boxes, as you like, or only use one search box. To avoid searching in free text, tick the box “Limit text search to archives title/name of person”. You can also choose to search only material with digital objects by clicking the box “Digitised material”.
Archives search: Search in titles of archives, names of persons and corporate body entities (for example authorities, organizations and companies) which are archives creators.
Archives holders: Search in archival institutions holding archival material (for example Borås Stadsarkiv, Sjöhistoriska museet).
Type: Search in different levels of description of archival material, such as holdings, series, volume or in a number of specific types of materials such as photograph, recording.
Main category: You can limit the search to persons, farm, village or a certain category of corporate body (for example public authority, company etc.).
Category: When you have selected main category, selectable sub categories will be shown. If you selected person (family, collector) as main category, you will be able to select, for example photographer, politician or family in the sub category list.
Time: Search in a certain year or within a time frame of several years.
What’s the difference between archives creators and archives? Archives creator means a corporate body entity (authority, company, organization) or a person whose activity resulted in the creation of records, while archives denotes the actual archival holdings containing the records which emanated from the activity. Further, archives can also refer to the archival institution holding the records.
